Congratulations to our scholarship recipients!
Dante DeCaro, Avery Dotolo, Vanessa Giorno, Julia Gencarelli and Oscar McLaughlin each received a $1,500 Scholarship for the Trades from the Westerly High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, Inc. The scholarships are awarded each year to Westerly residents graduating from an accredited high school or trade school, pursuing a career in a trade-related profession, either entering directly into the work force or continuing their education.
DeCaro is working for D&V Mechanical and is attending New England Technical Institute, pursuing a career in HVAC; Dotolo is working at the Uptown Salon and planning on attending Paul Mitchell, pursuing a career in cosmetology; Giorno is working at the Uptown Salon pursuing a career in cosmetology; Gencarelli is working at the Well Street Spa & Skincare Boutique and attending the University of Rhode Island pursuing a career in cosmetology; and McLaughlin is attending Wentworth pursuing a career in mechanical engineering.
